How to Play Spider Solitaire
Spider Solitaire is played with two decks of cards. The goal is to arrange all 104 cards into eight complete sequences, running from King down to Ace in the same suit.
Spider Solitaire Setup
The game has ten tableau columns. The first four columns contain six cards and the remaining six contain five cards. Only the top card of each column begins face up. The remaining 50 cards form the stock.
How to Win
Build complete King-to-Ace sequences in the same suit. Completed sequences are automatically removed from the tableau. Complete and remove all eight sequences to win the game.
Tableau Rules
- Build tableau columns downward by rank.
- A card can be placed on the next higher card, regardless of suit.
- Only a descending sequence of cards in the same suit can be moved together.
- Any single card or valid same-suit sequence can move to an empty column.
- A face-down card turns over when it becomes the top card of its column.
Stock Rules
- Click the stock to deal one card face up to each tableau column.
- Cards are dealt across all ten columns at the same time.
- You cannot deal from the stock while any tableau column is empty.
- Spider Solitaire does not use a talon or waste pile.
Spider Solitaire Modes
- Spider 1 Suit uses one suit and is the easiest mode.
- Spider 2 Suits uses two suits and offers medium difficulty.
- Spider 4 Suits uses all four suits and is the hardest mode.
